The very first board tackled for the game was the Stormwind board, and it would go through many many iterations to arrive where it stands today. Only a couple examples are seen here, but you can see some of the variation just in the buildings themselves. Ultimately the UI for the game would determine much of the overall layout and space available for artistic license. The final board in game would be brought to life with a variety of animations and intractable pieces.
